Is Laos Asia’s most underrated destination? Not by us. We’ve put together an 8-day trip taking in three of this beautiful country’s best known destinations, with the unique, experiential touches that made us famous.
Laos traces its first recorded history to the emergence of the Kingdom of Lan Xang (literally, “million elephants”) in 1353. Under the rule of King Fa Ngum, the wealthy and mighty kingdom covered much of what today is Thailand and Laos.
Today, Laos is known for its mountainous terrain, French colonial architecture, hill tribe settlements and Buddhist monasteries. The landlocked country has remained relatively underdeveloped and the people are perhaps the most welcoming in all of Southeast Asia, and you’ll meet plenty of them on this exciting 8-day introduction to Laos.
